Should The Boulder Colorado Airport Be Part Of Your Vacation Plans?

If you have the means to afford travel for yourself or your whole family, then Colorado is worth a visit at least once. The sheer geographic diversity of this state is amazing, from the western edges of the Great Plains to the soaring heights of the Front Range of the Rockies, with gorges, valleys, rivers sprinkled in between.

If you’re coming in from out of state, then the Denver area is a great place to use as a base location. The metropolitan area around Denver is home to most of the state’s population, and has quite a bit to do in its own right, including being home to franchises of every major league sport. It’s easy enough to drive from here to spots like Vail, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, or Colorado City.

Having said that, some places might be better off flown to, and the Boulder Colorado airport might work out really well for you. For starters, if you’re not flying from really far away, then a regional flight to this airport could be cheaper than going through Denver’s airport. While that facility is an international one with flights to many different faraway places, getting in and out of it can take hours, once you take into account security, parking, and transit. Boulder’s airport is a far smaller and simpler affair.

Even if you don’t use the Boulder airport in Colorado at the start or end of your trip, you might be well-served in using it during your trip. If this is a rare trip out West for you, it might be worth taking charter flights or day trips to places near Colorado you might not have convenient access to anytime soon. Consider how short it might be to fly to hotspots like Mt. Rushmore, Las Vegas, or even the Grand Canyon.

Just flying within Colorado can be a lot of fun too. While many attractions are an easy day trip from the Denver area, like Pikes Peak or the Air Force Academy, some are not, such as the Pueblo ruins in the southwestern corner of the state. Taking an air tour of the state can let you and your loved ones see the magnificence of the Rockies like no other way can show you. And, you can be back on the ground and in the comforts of your urban oasis for dinner.
